Your attention span isn’t broken. It’s out of practice. Read for ten minutes without checking anything.

CREATIVITY
Attention behaves more like a muscle than a fixed trait. Years of short, rewarding, interruptible things leave you unused to staying with one slow thing, and that feels like damage when it is mostly disuse. The relief is that disuse reverses with practice, which damage does not.
Set a timer for ten minutes and read with your phone in another room. When the urge to check arrives, notice it and stay put. Do that daily for a week, then move to fifteen once ten stops being hard.
How long can you read before your hand reaches for something?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
