Being the new kid at something is temporary. Staying the new kid is a choice.

Everybody starts a new thing without knowing how it works, and that stage is short by nature. What stretches it out is quietly avoiding the parts where inexperience would show, which keeps you safe and keeps you a beginner. The uncomfortable tasks are where the stage ends.

Volunteer once this week for the thing you would currently do badly. Ask the questions that reveal you are new while being new is still the obvious explanation. In a month those questions get harder to ask and you will still need the answers.
