A lot of decisions can be undone. Fewer things are permanent than fear says.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Fear sorts almost everything into the permanent pile. Choosing the wrong subject, moving somewhere, taking a job, saying the wrong thing to someone: most of it can be changed, apologised for, or simply lived past. A small number of things genuinely cannot be undone and it is worth knowing which those are, because the rest can be treated as experiments rather than verdicts.

Before your next hard decision, ask plainly what happens if you want out in six months. Where the answer is some embarrassment and lost time, treat it as reversible and decide faster. Save the long deliberation for the handful of things that only happen once.
