Show an older relative around the places you love. You’ll see them twice: once as you, once through them.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Familiar places go invisible. You stop registering details you have walked past a thousand times, and the only way back is to borrow eyes that have not. An older relative asks the wrong questions, stops at the wrong things, and hands your neighborhood back to you slightly strange.
Take a grandparent or a neighbor to two or three spots you actually like this month. Let them set the pace. You will come home with a version of the place you could not have reached alone.
Who would see your favorite places differently than you do?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
