Purpose rarely shows up as a big announcement. It usually shows up as the thing you keep doing even when nobody asked.

Nobody gets informed of their purpose. What happens instead is quieter and easier to miss: there is some activity you return to without being prompted, which you would probably do unpaid, and which you notice you have been doing for years. That pattern is the announcement. It just does not look like one while it is happening.

Look back over the last two or three years for what you kept coming back to. Not what you were good at or praised for, specifically the thing nobody required. Then give it slightly more room this month.
