People rarely talk about their job titles at their kitchen table. They talk about the people they worked with.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
What a job turns out to have been, in retrospect, is the people in it. Titles get used for applications and then drop out of the story, because nobody remembers a rank the way they remember who covered for them. The work gets recalled as a cast. That is a reasonable thing to factor in while choosing.
When you weigh a job or a team, ask who you will be around, not only what the position is called. Then be one of the people worth remembering: cover a shift, learn names, notice when somebody is struggling.
Who from work would you mention at your own table?
