A thousand selfies won’t tell you what you were thinking. Write a few lines about this year somewhere.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Photographs record surfaces, so a few thousand of them can leave no trace of what the year was actually like: what you were worried about, who you could not stop thinking about, what you were hoping would happen. The inside of a year disappears completely unless somebody writes it down while it is still true.
Write half a page this week about where things stand, the people and the worry and the thing you want. Date it, put it somewhere dull, and do it again in six months.
What were you thinking about most this month?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
