You’re probably wrong about where you’ll be in ten years. That’s good news. You’ll have grown past your current guesses.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Any prediction you make now is built from what you currently know about yourself, and that is precisely the part due to change most. Being wrong about ten years out is evidence of growth rather than of bad planning. The version of you doing the guessing has not yet met the people who will redirect it.
Make the guess anyway and keep it somewhere, because it will be interesting later. Then plan properly only as far as the next step, and hold the long version loosely.
Where do you assume you will be at thirty?
