Saying thank you to the people who raised you won’t feel like much. It will mean more than you’ll know.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Thanks feels thin while you are saying it, because the words are ordinary and the thing being thanked is enormous and still going on. What you cannot see from your side is how rarely anybody says it to them at all, which is why a plain sentence lands far harder than it felt leaving your mouth.
Say one specific thank you this week, for something real rather than for everything in general. The lifts to practice, or the year somebody worked a second job, said once and with no request attached.
Who raised you and has never heard you say thanks?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
