Migrating birds lose a lot on the way and still arrive. Arriving tired still counts as arriving.

A crossing does not have to be clean to count. The distance costs weight, energy and margin, and the ones that get across do not land looking fresh. They land. Expecting to come through something difficult undamaged is a standard almost nothing in nature manages to meet.
If you are mid way through a hard stretch, measure yourself by whether you are still going rather than by how you look while doing it. Then take the recovery seriously once you land, because that half is not optional either.
What did you finish tired and refuse to count?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
