Most heroes in real life are just people who showed up when others didn’t.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Courage gets imagined as rare and dramatic, and most real cases are much plainer than that. Somebody was there and did not leave. They stayed with a person, kept the shift, made the call, went back a second time. Presence does most of the work that gets described afterwards as bravery.
Look for one situation this week where turning up is the whole job: a hospital visit, a friend’s bad week, a shift nobody wants. Go, even if you have nothing clever to say once you are there.
Who showed up for you when nobody else did?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
