Too many options can make a simple decision feel sophisticated and impossible.

A large set of options can make a small decision feel important. Each additional choice adds comparison, second-guessing, and the sense that a wrong answer is possible, and the decision expands to fill the space it has been given. It feels sophisticated and it mostly produces delay. Fewer options would have produced a similar outcome much sooner.
For low-stakes decisions, limit yourself to three options and pick within a set time. Save the deliberation for things that will still matter in a year. Most choices deserve less than they get.
