Endings often feel like losses at first. Later some of them turn out to be how the next thing got room.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
When something ends, the loss arrives at once and the space it opens shows up much later. That lag is what makes endings so confusing. You can feel the thing being removed but not the room being made, so the first reading of nearly every ending is plain subtraction. Some stay that way and some do not, and you get no vote on which at the time.
Give it a while before deciding what an ending was. Keep moving in the meantime, because whatever fills the space tends to arrive through ordinary action rather than through working the meaning out first.
