People who make fun of you for trying have often stopped trying themselves. Their laugh is about them.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Mockery aimed at effort almost always comes from somebody who has stopped making any. Watching another person try is uncomfortable if you have quietly given up, because it raises the question of why you are not, and laughing is the cheapest way to settle that question without answering it. The joke is a report on them.
Keep going visibly, and notice who laughs. Then spend your time near people who also try at something, because those two groups rarely overlap.
Who mocks your effort while risking nothing themselves?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
