Confusion grows when terminology multiplies faster than understanding.

New words often arrive as a substitute for new understanding. Teams and fields invent terms faster than they clarify ideas, and after a while people are speaking fluently about things nobody can define. The vocabulary creates a feeling of precision that the thinking does not support. Confusion then becomes very difficult to detect.
When a term is used repeatedly, ask what it means in plain words. If nobody can say, that is worth knowing. Insisting on the ordinary description usually improves the conversation immediately.
