A thrift store can’t sell you taste. You bring that in yourself.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
The racks are random by definition. There is no buyer deciding what this season looks like, no mannequin arranged to tell you what goes together, and nothing on the hanger that will do the work for you. Whatever you walk out with is the result of your own eye, which is exactly why a good find there feels different from a good find anywhere else.
Go in with no list and give yourself twenty minutes. Pick things up because of the fabric, the colour, the weight, and put back anything you only want for the label. You are training something you will use for years.
What do you spot in a messy rack that others miss?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
