Being alone on a Friday night isn’t sad by default. Some people are just good company for themselves.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
An empty Friday only means something bad if you have decided it does. Some of it is genuine preference: a film, a book, a kitchen to yourself, nobody to negotiate with. Some of it is loneliness, and that is worth taking seriously. The two feel different from the inside, and only you can tell which one is in the room.
Check which it is before you fix it. If it is preference, enjoy the night properly rather than apologising for it. If it is loneliness, send one message to one person tomorrow, which is a smaller move than it feels.
Does an empty Friday night feel like a problem to you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
