A family recipe, a lullaby, a nickname only your aunts use: that’s an identity no app can store.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
There are parts of who you are that have no field to go in. No profile has a box for the song your grandmother hummed, the particular way your family says a word, the dish that only tastes right when somebody specific makes it. These are held in people and in repetition rather than in storage, which makes them fragile and also impossible to fake.
Write one of them down this month, or better, learn to do it yourself. Ask for the recipe and cook it badly once. Record an aunt saying the phrase. These things only survive by being passed between hands.
