If your body carried you through today, it did its job. Show it a little respect.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Bodies get judged almost entirely on appearance, which is the least of what they do. Yours walked you around, held you up through a long day, healed things you never noticed, got you to practice and through a shift. That is the actual job description, and it was met. The mirror is not the performance review.
Do one thing for it this week that is about function rather than looks: eat a real breakfast, drink water before the game, sleep an extra hour, stretch whatever has been aching. Small and unglamorous. Treat it the way you would treat a teammate who kept going for you.
What did your body get you through today?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
