A name that’s hard for your teachers was easy for the people who chose it. Remember who picked it.

The difficulty is not in your name; it is in the distance between your name and the languages one particular room is used to. Somewhere that name is ordinary, said quickly and without effort, by people who chose it with care. A classroom’s awkwardness is not a verdict on it.
Keep your own pronunciation as the correct one, including the version your family uses. When a teacher stumbles, say it once clearly and let them try again instead of offering a shortened replacement. If you do not know the story behind it, ask at home this week; it is usually worth hearing.
