Disorder is sometimes evidence that capacity has been exceeded.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
A mess is not always carelessness. Sometimes it means a person is handling more than they can handle, and the upkeep is the first thing to go because it has no deadline attached. Reading it as laziness misses what it is reporting, both in yourself and in someone else. It is often the visible edge of an overload.
When disorder has taken hold, ask what changed in the load rather than starting with self-criticism. Reduce something before organizing anything. And if you see it in someone else’s life, ask how they are rather than commenting on the house.
What are you carrying too much of right now?
