A mirror only shows you right now. Don’t let it tell you who you’ll be.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

A reflection is a snapshot with no information about direction. It cannot see the training you started three weeks ago, the growing you have not finished, or the way faces change through your twenties, and still it reports one frame as though it were a forecast. The present tense is all it knows. Treating it as a prediction is where the harm starts.

Judge change over months rather than mornings, and use something other than the glass: how heavy the weights are, how far you run, how clothes fit. Take a photo now and look at it in half a year.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Does today’s reflection get to decide who you become?
