Good company does not turn you into somebody else. It brings forward what was already in you, so you end up funnier, braver and more honest than you manage alone. The test of a friendship is not how much fun it is. It is who you sound like afterwards, and whether that person is someone you would want to be more often.

Run through your groups and ask who you are in each one. Spend an extra hour this week with whoever makes you more like yourself. Then ask the harder question, which is whether anyone would say that about you.
