Riddles cheat by using ordinary words you skim past. The answer is sitting in plain sight and your brain races off looking for something clever, and afterwards you feel foolish because nothing was hidden at all. Advice behaves the same way. Most of what you have been told about sleep, practice and honesty is plain, unglamorous and correct, and the plainness is exactly why it gets ignored.

Think of the piece of advice you have heard most often and never followed. Do the smallest version of it this week, once, and stop waiting for a more interesting answer.
