Pressing the elevator button ten times doesn’t bring it faster. Some waiting can’t be hurried, only endured gracefully.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Repetition does not speed up a system that is already doing its best. Pressing something ten times changes nothing except your own temperature, and a lot of waiting is like that: a bus, a healing ankle, a decision somebody else has to make. The only variable left is how you spend the interval, and panicking through it costs real energy without buying a single minute.

Notice the thing you keep refreshing. Decide what you will do with that waiting time instead, this week, and let the checking happen once a day rather than hourly.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you poking at that will not move faster?
