A scale tells you how much. It never tells you what it’s worth.

Measurement and value are different questions. A scale will tell you how much of something there is and has nothing to say about whether it matters, and most of the numbers around you are like that. Points, followers, grades, hours, pounds. Each one is a real measurement of a narrow thing, and none of them knows what you were trying to do or whether this was a good week.
Choose the number you have been checking most. Write one sentence about what you actually want, then judge the week against the sentence instead.
What have you counted without asking whether it mattered?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
