A capacity with nothing to open is just an oddity. Being quick with numbers, good at calming people down, able to fix things, funny in a crisis. None of that means much in the abstract, and all of it becomes valuable the moment it meets a situation shaped to need it. Finding the match is a real search, not a sign that the key is defective.
