A river’s mouth is where it finally loses its name and keeps its water. Endings don’t erase what you gave.

Endings do not take back what was given. A river loses its name where it meets the sea and every drop it carried is still in the water, which is a fair description of a friendship, a team or a season that is over. The label stops applying. What you put in does not get withdrawn, and neither does what somebody put into you.
When something has finished recently, write down one thing it gave you that you still have. You do not need to show anyone. Keeping the account straight in your own head is the point.
What did you give to something that has since ended?
