Being early to the bus stop gives you two minutes of nothing. Learn to like those minutes.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Two minutes with nothing in them is the price of not being rushed, and most people would rather pay in panic than in boredom. The discomfort is not really about waiting; it is about being alone with your own head for a moment with no task. Life hands out a lot of those gaps.

Try standing there without reaching for your phone. Look at the street, notice the weather, let your thoughts go wherever they go. Do it on purpose a few times this week, at the stop, in a queue, waiting for a lift. It gets easier quickly, and then being early stops feeling like wasted time.
