Fixing a friendship takes more than one good conversation. It’s usually several awkward ones.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

One good talk feels like a resolution and is usually just the first repair. Trust comes back through repeated normal contact afterwards, which is the awkward part, because you both remember the argument and nobody mentions it. The conversation clears the air; the weeks that follow are what rebuild it.

Plan for three or four interactions rather than one big clearing of the air. Sit near them, send the ordinary kind of message you used to send, go to the thing you would both have gone to anyway. It will feel stilted for a while and then stop. Do not let the awkwardness become a reason to quit.
