In group projects, the calm person who sets a realistic schedule ends up quietly in charge.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Authority in a group tends to go to whoever lowers everybody’s anxiety. A workable schedule answers the question quietly bothering all of you, which is when things have to happen, and the person who produces it becomes the one people check with. That has very little to do with being the loudest or the cleverest in the room.
In your next group project, be the one who writes the dates down in the first ten minutes, with something due before the real deadline. Keep it realistic enough that people can follow it. Send it to everyone and update it once a week.
