Some creatures survive by blending in; others survive by being impossible to ignore.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Two opposite strategies both work. The moth that vanishes into bark survives by being unnoticed; the bright poisonous frog survives by being unmistakable. Neither is universally better, and each fails badly in the other’s circumstances.

Be honest about which strategy suits you and your situation rather than adopting the one you are told to admire. Some people and some seasons call for visibility, others for quiet competence. Trying to be conspicuous when your advantage is in blending is exhausting and usually counterproductive.
