A partner who needs your location every minute is asking for a leash, not closeness.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Constant location gets sold as closeness and works as the opposite, because it puts surveillance where trust used to be. Trust is the thing that makes not knowing bearable. Once a live feed of your position is required instead, the real question has become whether you can be relied on while unwatched, and more watching never answers it. It only turns the question up.

If this is happening, you can say you are not doing it, with no trade and no counter offer. Share your location when it is practical and you chose it. Then notice whether the response is relief or escalation.
