Some people only want your opinion so they can argue with it. You can decline the round.

Not every question is actually a question. Some are openings, offered so a disagreement can get started, and answering honestly just hands over the first move. You can usually tell by asking yourself whether anything you said would ever be accepted. When the answer is no, the exchange was never about your view.

When you sense that setup this week, say you would rather not get into it, and mean it. Change the subject once. If it circles back, let the silence do the work.
