Watching something unfold and taking a part in it are two different acts. The pull to pick a side comes fast, because staying out of it can feel like not caring, and because being in the story is more interesting than standing outside it. You can see the whole thing clearly and still have no line to say. Awareness is not participation.

When the next round starts, let yourself be curious rather than involved. Do not repeat it, do not take a side in the group chat, and see how little you actually lose.
