One person can’t be your entire support system. Spread the weight across a few.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Putting everything on one person is risky for both of you. They become responsible for every kind of help you need, you get careful about how much you ask, and when they are busy or struggling you have nowhere else to turn. Spreading it out is not disloyalty. It lets each friendship carry what it is actually suited to carrying.

List the people you might go to for different things: somebody practical, somebody funny, somebody older. If one name fills every column, start a conversation with someone new this week.
