The morning mirror catches you before your face has woken up. Don’t let it set the tone.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Faces take an hour or so to arrive. Sleep leaves creases, puffiness and a slackness that has nothing to do with how you look by mid-morning, so the mirror at seven is showing a temporary state rather than your actual face. Treating that image as the verdict for the day is a bad trade. You are judging a draft.

Give yourself an hour before deciding anything about how you look. Get light, water and movement first. If the early mirror tends to sink you, keep the visit short and practical.
