Sitting still in the woods for ten minutes, the birds come back. Some things only show up when you stop moving.

REFLECTION
Your own movement is part of what you are looking at. Birds do not leave because the woods are empty of them; they leave because something large just walked in, and they come back only when that stops being true. Quite a lot of life works that way, including conversations where you do most of the talking.
Give it ten minutes somewhere this week, outside if you can manage it, with nothing to look at. The first few minutes feel like waiting for a bus. After that things start appearing that were there all along, and the trick works on a friend who has not got a word in.
What shows up in your life only when you stop moving?
