You’ll see your progress in a photo from last year better than in the mirror today.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Progress needs a gap to be visible. The mirror compares you to yesterday, where the difference is zero, so day after day the honest answer is that nothing has changed and the conclusion you draw is that nothing ever will. A photo from a year ago is the only version of you that is far enough away to measure against.

So make a baseline today, because you cannot go back and take one later. A photo, a time for a run, a video of you playing something, dated and left alone. Looking at it next spring will tell you more than a thousand mornings of checking.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which old photo would show you how far you’ve come?
