Beauty deserves attention even when nobody can monetize it.

Not everything worth attention can be converted into anything. A wildflower on a verge, a song no one will pay for, an afternoon spent looking. The fact that no value can be extracted is not a mark against these things; it is simply outside what the measuring instrument can see.

Protect a corner of your life from that instrument. Something you do purely because it is good, with no possible return. It will feel unjustifiable and it is likely to be among the parts you would defend most fiercely if anyone tried to take it.
