One bad day is weather. Five in a row is a pattern. Learn to tell them apart.

REFLECTION
Single bad days are noise, and treating one as evidence about your life leads to dramatic conclusions on Wednesdays. A run of them is different information, because duration is what separates a mood from a situation. Mixing the two means you either panic over nothing or ignore something real for months. The difference between them is countable.
Keep a one-word note each night for a fortnight: good, fine or rough. If the rough ones cluster, that is worth telling somebody about, and telling a parent or a counsellor is a reasonable move rather than an overreaction. If they do not cluster, you have saved yourself a lot of worrying.
How do you tell a rough week from a real pattern?
