Your anger often knows something before you do. Listen to it before you obey it.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Anger tends to arrive when a line has been crossed, often before you can say which line, which makes it useful information and a terrible decision-maker. It is accurate about the fact that something is wrong and unreliable about what to do next. Those two get confused because the feeling turns up with so much certainty and so much speed.

Give it a listen and a delay this week. When you flare, ask what rule you think got broken and write that sentence down. Then wait an hour before you send, say or do anything. The information usually survives the hour and the plan improves a lot.
