The people you see every day are the easiest to stop looking at. Look again.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Familiarity is its own kind of blindness. Once your brain decides it knows somebody, it stops gathering new information and runs the old file instead. That is how you can sit beside the same friend for a year and still be reacting to who they were last spring. People keep changing while your picture of them holds still.

Pick one person you see every day this week and watch them for a minute the way a stranger would. Notice one thing you had stopped noticing. Then ask them something you have never thought to ask.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who do you see daily and have not really looked at lately?
