When things go wrong, some people get loud, some go silent, some get busy. Know your default before it picks for you.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Everybody has a standard reaction to things going wrong, and it runs before you have chosen anything. A few get loud, others go quiet, some start cleaning or organising, and some simply disappear for a while. Not knowing yours means it gets to decide for you at exactly the moment a good decision would matter most, and naming it in advance buys you a second of room.

Think back to the last two times something went badly and work out what you did first. Say it plainly to yourself. Then pick what you would rather do next time, simple enough to recall under pressure.
