Notice where stress lives in your body. Clenched jaw, tight shoulders, tapping foot. Your body often knows before you do.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Stress usually shows up in the body before you can name it in words. A clenched jaw, shoulders riding up near your ears, a foot going constantly: the body registers pressure and holds on to it while your thinking is still insisting everything is fine. Learning your own particular signal gives you a warning you would not otherwise get.
Check your jaw, shoulders and hands twice a day this week for no particular reason. When you find them tight, ask what you were thinking about just beforehand. Fixing the cause is better, and unclenching is a reasonable place to start.
