Who are you when the uniform comes off after a shift? That person needs attention too.

A job hands you a role, and a role is easier to occupy than a self, because the tasks are listed, the tone is set and you know what you are for. Take the uniform off and the question of what you want is open again, which is harder and considerably more important. People can spend years inside a role precisely because of that difference.

After your next shift, keep twenty minutes that have nothing to do with work before anything else gets into them. Do something only you would choose. The off-duty version needs practice as much as the working one.
