Look at what you doodle in the margins when you’re bored. Your hands draw what your head keeps circling.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Your hands keep working when your attention wanders, and what they make comes from whatever your head has not finished with. A shape you draw over and over is rarely random; it is the thing you have been chewing on with the sound off. Boredom lowers the filter, so the margin gets the honest version.
Flip back through your notebook tonight and look only at the edges of the pages. Notice what repeats: a name, a place, a design, the same unfinished sketch. Then ask what it keeps circling, and whether you have been avoiding saying it plainly.
