Write down three things you believed at fourteen that you don’t believe now. You’ve already proven you can change.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Change is easier to doubt than to see, because you only ever stand at the end of it. Looking at what you used to be certain about turns an invisible process into something you can count. You did not talk yourself out of those old beliefs; you lived a few more years and paid attention. The same thing is happening right now to opinions you currently hold tightly.

Write the three down tonight as actual sentences, not categories. Beside each one note what changed your mind, a person, a book, something that happened. Keep the list for a day when you feel stuck in one version of yourself.
