You’re a slightly different person in every room. The job is knowing the part that never changes.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Adjusting to a room is not dishonesty, it is how people get along, and anybody who behaves identically everywhere is usually hard to be around. The risk is losing track of the constant underneath the versions: what you will not do, what you always notice, who you protect. That constant is the part worth knowing, because the versions keep multiplying as your life gets bigger.
Name two things about yourself that held in every room this week, including the uncomfortable ones. Keep them small and specific rather than grand. Then watch for a moment where the room pulls against one of them, and hold it anyway.
Which part of you shows up identically in every room?
