Your first job without a supervisor watching shows you exactly what kind of worker you are.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being watched does a lot of the work that you assume your character is doing. Take the supervisor away and whatever standard you actually hold is the only thing left running the shift. Most people find out they are somewhere between the version they describe and the version they fear, which is useful rather than damning.

On your next unsupervised hour, pick one task that nobody would check and do it properly anyway. Wipe the whole counter, restock the back row, count it twice. You are not performing for a manager, you are finding out what you are like.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What kind of worker are you when nobody is supervising?
